This is the world beyond Seattle's daily grind. "Trials of miles and miles of trials" are the stuff that bonds all runners together in an extended family of storied dreamers. This is their tale of the city, of Sunday 20-milers and 10k's and of marathons in far-away places.
"Don't call it a comeback; I've been here for years"
Hey everyone out there... this is Craig...
PR's don't come easy after thirty. At least not for guys and especially not for me! Still, somehow I find myself with two PR's this year! There is the argument that I didn't run these distances enough when I was younger or when I was more fit. I will give you both. I ran a PR in the Houston Half this year in 1:09:30. I have run faster en route during a 15 mile race and have run within spitting distance of that time in the second half of a marathon but a PR is a PR. My second PR in 2010 came Saturday ...
Hey folks, Craig here, just got a bunch of side e-mails about running in Chicago.. I have run there a lot... but Jesse wrote those blogs. Our sign-off is small at the bottom, but it's there...

Of course in two years this is the 2nd time I have ever done so...

Also, did I mention the heat!? Luckily for me there are water stops along the lakeshore every half mile or so and they saved me everyday I ran. No real workouts to talk of, just lots of good miles in the heat and humidity to toughen the body. I found it hard to run slow on that path each day and a few times I had ...
Well for all of the worrying and anxiety James put into today's workout it turned out pretty well.
So Paul sent in the workout a bit early from either Korea or Austin Texas... He was not at liberty to say... As always our imagination was way worse than the actual workout which is not really all that scary. I guess I have gotten to the trusting point with his guidance.
